Headlight Restoration vs Replacement: Which Makes Sense?

Cloudy lenses cut visibility. Restoration is cost-effective for oxidation; cracks and internal moisture usually need new assemblies.

What Causes Cloudy Headlights

Yellowed, hazy headlights are usually oxidized polycarbonate. A proper restoration sands away the damaged layer, polishes optical clarity, and applies UV protection.

When Restoration Makes Sense

Restoration is ideal when the housing is intact and moisture is not trapped inside. If lenses are cracked, welding points broken, or adjusters failed, replacement is safer.

Maintaining Results After Restoration

After restoration, park out of direct sun when possible and reapply protection periodically. Cheap "wipe-on" kits without UV sealant often yellow again within months.

A Safety Upgrade, Not Just Cosmetic

Improved light output isn't just cosmetic — it is a nighttime safety upgrade for a fraction of OEM assembly cost.
